Hey Guys!! I don't have internet just yet in this banging apartment so, I'm stealing from the neighbor across the street. (Well, I guess it's just 'borrowing' because if it was 'stealing' he'd probably be mad. But he's not mad... he's just naked).

I accidentally just hurt my finger. I made it bleed... and now it ows. :(

So, this is my first blog entry for the year. I bet you're wondering how my summer went! It went about like this...

1. $150 Speeding ticket.
2. Car Accident
3. Car ran out of gas in the middle of the street
4. Car didn't have enough money to get insured
5. Car just about stopped working right before I left.
6. Uterus broke
7. Uterus got fixed.
8. Got a new boyfriend! :)
9. Had a hassle with exroommates and ditching old apartments
10. Got a new, BETTER apartment with just Elana.

So, that's 10 Things I hate about Summer 2010. :D Except for the boyfriend thing- that part was AWESOME. Still is, matter of fact. I just wish he was here.

So, now that all that negativity is behind us, don't ask me how my summer was. :D Because it was about like that.

This year I'm taking the standard- five classes. Mondays and Thursdays are the same: Shakespeare, followed by Advanced Screenwriting, and then Rome: Julius Caeser through Nero (which is secretly my favorite class). Tuesdays are Cinema Arts with Sir Steveo, and then Arts of India (Second favorite class).

So far, I've only been to my Monday classes. I am PUMPED that the lady teaching Rome seems to be a museum fanatic. She's taking us to two. This is my first class that has "field trips" so I feel a bit like a 5th grader- not that I'm complaining. I like me some Museum. ESPECIALLY since Julius Caeser was smart enough to get busy with Cleopatra, so she falls into our unit, AND THE FRANKLIN MUSEUM HAS A CLEOPATRA SHOW WE'RE GOING TOOOOOO!! Word. A little too excited, there. Geek moment.

Advanced Screenwriting was the worst, to my amazement, so far. But it will get better. I just needed to not be a dorkis for a hot minute and pick a story I didn't like as much. It's just time to accept that Fantasy genres may be AWESOME but in a 90 page limit, they're doomed to fail. So, Holocaust script it is.

That's right, all. This year is my Feature Length Screenplay. :D Yep! And mine is called "Me'Ahev." It's Hebrew for "My Lover" and it's about two Polish men during the Holocaust who fell in love early on. One is Christian, one is Jewish. The Christian boy's family told him that the other family moved to Russia to flee, but really they sold them out because they feared their own son, Fabian, was in love with their son, Matthew. And since homosexuals are one of the Nazi targets, they sold them out to save their son. They meet again when Fabian naively takes a job in a concentration camp, in the kitchens, to get the war over faster so that he can visit Matthew in Russia. Oops! Matthew's a prisoner. You'll have to wait to hear what happens next- especially since I'm sure some of you don't care. :P

I'm listening to the Hercules soundtrack. Yeah man.

This year I was an Orientation Leader, which was not worth the money if you're doing it for the money, but there are LOTS of other reasons to do it- including the fact that a bunch of the Freshmen I helped have asked me questions after it was over, and lots of them stayed the whole way through. The whole experience made me feel really good about helping them out, and it improved my self-esteem. Elana did it as well and she said it made her feel a lot less shy! So, there are lots of other benefits. :) I liked it a lot. There were just a LOT of hours, work, and motivaition to put into it. And I don't personally think that OL's in the past get enough credit... and that RA's get a little too MUCH credit- jussayin. *Cough* Grouchy Curtis *Cough*

Oh yeah, so I live just before North Philly now. No, I won't get killed. :P Know why? Because I'm just way too awesome for that, and I just don't have time. xD

The Remix Dance Party at UArts. I'm there with Shaina, Megan and Dan. :)

Me, Elana, and Dan turning in our pins to be judged (we had to design pins with our group numbers on them for our Freshmen to wear). Elana's WON!!

All the Insane OL's on... Moving day? It might be moving day. Which means it's 6:30AM here. :P

Me and the other "Orange" OL's during the True Colors excercise. :)

All the Little OL's during training. :)

I also cut off all my hair this summer for locks of love. :) 12 inches!! This is how short it was originally.

This looks familiar, right? WRONG!! New apartment hahaha xD

This is our new couch!! New meaning it was Free in the hallway of Arch Street apartment with a rip in the back. It's AWESOME! Huzzah leather.

And guess what? Guess what I got? ... :)

Adorable boyfriend. :)

That's all for now, guys! Have a good night! I'll be back reeeeeeaaaaalll soon. :D

I apologize for not getting this out when I said I would. I'm a bad person! But, I've been very, very busy as of late. We're talking life changing installments in the life of Jaimie. Serious bidness, guys. Serious.

I BARELY had time to do this tonight, but I couldn't not post again, it would make me a terrible person. :P

So. This will be mostly pictures, because I have an assload of them. I will say that my mom, Caly and Ryan all had a VERY good time here in Philly. I took them to South Street, the Philadelphia Zoo, the PMA, Eastern State Penitentiary, The Museum of Natural Sciences, and The Franklin Institute (for a hot minute).

I have some choice pictures from Eastern State and the PMA, as well as shots of my family for you guys.

My mother SWEARS up and down that she got pictures of ghosts at Eastern State. She also doesn’t believe in ghosts, so I personally can’t wait to get to NH on the 8th and take a gander at these photos. xD

As far as Finals are concerned, don’t worry, I think I passed them all. xD I finished my final teleplay- a full 57 pages. I also handed in both of my final papers in Writing for Media, and did very well on my Text and Contexts test—I seemed to know a lot of the answers. I got a B on my Religion Final (we correct them in class) and even if I didn’t do well on my Screenplay Analysis test (which I remain up in the air about) I got all A’s all year, so I’m not worried about it. Yay!

I fly home on May 8th around 6. And there’s actually a guy there I plan on spending a lot of time with… so this will be a good summer, I think. =]

Hopefully, I’ll be back to see you guys all again in the Fall. If not, well then it’s been a good two years. And I wish everyone well in their college careers- bloggers and readers alike.

Have good summers!

Those are pictures from the Zoo, South Street Diner, and Eastern State. :)

It's true! Very good new Disney movie.

I'm so exhausted that I can barely keep my eyes open, but I felt really bad about being lax with the posting. So, here I am!!

The good news is that I'll have some kickass pictures this weekend because my family is coming to visit! Yup! Mom, Ryan and Caly. And I'm taking them all sorts of fun places. So, awesome pictures await you, folks!

For now I think I need bed before I expire. But watch Princess and the Frog if you haven't. Okay? Okay night. =]

Not dead, just very tired, and very busy. Apologize for not blogging this week, I was mucho sick. Sick, sick, sick.

The good news is that I got an A- on Act Four. Woooo... the bad news is that I'm very tired. Boooooooo =[. I'm trying to wait to sleep until 11 so that I won't wake up wide awake in the middle of the night like every other friggin night this week-- because that is called SUCK!

Still dunno where I'll be this summer. Waiting to hear back from Al Dia on whether or not I got their internship. Which would be great because it's close to my apartment and sounds really fun, and I'm sure I'd enjoy it. I also think it would count for my major which is nice. =] But, I'd need to get a job so that I could afford this apartment for the summer. Otherwise it's back to NH and back to the gas station.

The word of the day is Orange. My nails... look orange. I thought this paint was peach, but it's orangey. I do not like orange.

That almost sounds like a poem.

PS: I wish I wasn't on this Caffeine Free diet. =[ I miss tea and soda. Dearly. <3

***My Public Private Life***

Regina Spektor is my lover.
But, I guess, so is P!NK. So... maybe I'm just a lesbian slut!!
Works for me, now that I'm newly single. Woohoo! Who was I kidding, I'm not a relationship person. Puushhaahhh haha. When the going gets tough, Jaimie gets a goin' to the club. Which is exactly where I'm going  with Sandra, Tiarra, Elana, Angela, Jordan, and possibly Jesse and Tiarra's roommate on Friday night. Worth my time? Always. <3 Get ready to shake a tail feather, I am doooown!!

Ooh, Pop Champagne just came on. Good jam.

So, I wrote this whole, long blog on Thursday and what happened? It was deleted. Again. That makes six times, now. Six. I'll tell ya what, it's pretty frustrating. This time it was so annoying that I couldn't post for for three days. That's how long it was. Hopefully I'll be able to make this blog just as PUMPED UP WITH AWESOME as the first one. But, I can't make any promises, of course.

As part of my optional "boyfriend replacement therapy" I went shopping with Elana on Friday night. Wet Seal and G+G. You know what that means!! Means cheap clothes to last the month-- and JUST the month! I must say, the therapy was much more of an ego sooth than anything else. I'm just not a girlfriend girl, it's been true aaaaalll along. Perhaps I should just stick to what I know: Drag Queens.

I got three very cute dresses, and an AWESOME purple shirt with flowers that makes my boobs look great. Yeah, I just said that on the blog. Girls have boobs, get over it!!

There the Wet Seal ones are!! =] Minus those shoes (which I have tried on before, and they make me look like even MORE of a Trojan warrior) and that weird hat, and that weirder bracelet. I'm much cooler than those. But, yeah! $15 each because they were on sale. Love love LOVE finding dresses that fit and make me feel good about myself. Love it. The dress I got from G+G is black with little pink roses and spaghetti straps. Love it. Tight at the top and the waist, with a flowing skirt.

***My Accademics***

Writing for Media is a much better class than I thought it was going to be. Sandra and I finished our paper on students who fall through the cracks, and I was startled to see that a LOT of universities-- including Harvard-- are facing the same issues as UArts. So, that assignment was all right after all. Now we're onto Op Ed. I'm either comparing JFK to Obama in mine, or writing a satirical piece about the government controling marriage like it does, by comparing that to the government controlling the reproduction of humans.

Screenwriting II... I wrote my Act III last night, and I was fairly satisfied with it. I got an A on my 18pg Outline, an A- on my Act I, and another A on my Act II when I cut down the description that I had in Act I. I tend to pump it up with all sorts of what we call "fat" which is basically just stuff you're supposed to cut away. It happens in description, mostly. Or being redundant by stating action that the actors already assumed was going to happen.
Actually, today we had a presentation by a girl who graduated in 2006, who's now a writer/producer/director of Indie movies. And the movie she's working on now actually looks really cool. It's called "Calendar Girl" hopefully airing in October, but if not, December. And I am going to try to see that, so that's exciting. She's doing really well, and basically got started right after school, so that was reassuring for me. =]

Texts and Contexts was canceled today, because poor Pamela has food poisoning, again!! I feel so bad. She had it on Monday, too. The bad news is that apparently most people did badly on the midterm (uh oh) and some people need to have meetings about cheating-- which I'm not "worried" about because I just don't cheat, flat out. But, I am ALWAYS worried that I'm going to be falsely accused of cheating and have no way to prove myself innocent. Yeah, I know. I'm retarded. Anyways, the good news is that she's grading us on a curve, so we should all be set. I'm also pretty positive that I did well on the Madea paper, so here's hoping it's all gonna be all right!
She's even scheduling a make up class, because at this point we're far behind. Hope it's not early in the morning. Cause... I can't function then. lol

World Religions is a GREAT class, I'm so glad I took it. A couple weeks ago, Sandra and I did our field visit at the temple Beth Zion that's located on Rittenhouse square. It's a truly beautiful synagogue, with a lot of old, intricate architecture. Apparently it used to be a Christian church before it was taken over shortly after the Holocaust, which I thought was really interesting. The stained glass, which had originally belonged to whichever Christian denomination came before it, now reflects scenes from the Hebrew Bible, the book of Exodus, Leviticus, and more. The large window, seen in both photographs here, depects "The Tree of Life" from Genesis.

It was a short prayer, only 20 minutes long, starting at 5:30pm. The entire reading was in Hebrew, but a nice, older woman named Bev helped us to follow along by supplying english translations, and telling us when to turn the pages. We then got to sit in with the Rabbi and ask questions, learning more about Conservative Judaism, and their particular church as compared to others. It really was an interesting experience, and one I would not have had, had I not taken Sergeev's class. Everyone should take a class like this at some point.
I'm even looking into taking Hebrew classes with a local temple during the summer, just because I find the Hebrews as a people to be incredibly interesting. For the same reason I'd love to take Latin, I'm sure.
We do our oral presentation on the first day they're done-- one week from tomorrow, I believe.

Screenplay Analysis is what it is. It's not my favorite class, but it's not terrible. After the break we read Tootsie, then Diner, and now Children of Men is dude Tuesday. It's certainly moving faster than it was before. And I got an A- on the paper, and an A on the exam. I'm okay with both of those things, babeh!

*** Extra Activiies***

On Easter Sunday, I went with little Jordan-- who is Catholic-- to a Catholic church right near Rittenhouse called St. Patricks. It was very beautiful, and very nicely decorated. Also very intimidating, as it's quite tall, and very dome-like inside.

My father requested this... he said he hasn't seen
me willing to set foot in a church since I was too
little to walk. So, here ya go, dad!

I hope my gramma ends up reading this, because she really loves old churches.

I hope everybody had a happy Easter! I'll talk to everyone Thursday or Friday night.

Let me clear muh throat!!

It's 4:06AM. I just finished my Act II rewrite for Steve on Monday. I like to get these things out of the way when Matt's coming, so that i don't feel stressed while he's here. =] The only other things due Monday are the finalized Investigative Report from Sandra and myself- which Sharry said that she liked when she read my rough draft, without Sandra's take even being ADDED yet, which is a great sign- and my readings and reviews of Kevin's and Andrew's new Act I and outlines. That's not too much work for a Sunday, no? Should go over smoothly. =]

Got back my Screenplay Analysis midterm today. A-!!! And the paper that went along with it? She said it was 80% A and 20% A-. =] I thinkI have an A in that class- which is good, because it certainly gives me more fits than Film Story Analysis does. Woo!!
I took Sharry's midterm today, and I think I did well. Only 8 questions, and I knew most of them, or at least enough to make an educated guess. Sandra did well on hers, as well- because she's awesome, of course. I also took my Texts and Contexts midterm, today... which was not AS good as I'd hoped... but I knew enough of them that I'm fairly certain I passed, which is more than I can say about that damn map quiz! Her tests are VERY hard, I must say. I usually test decently, not the best, but not terrile, but hers? Oh no. Very, very bad. I knew most of the questions on Genesis and the Hebrews, and all of them on the Romans. I also think I did fairly well on the timeline... but the greeks... damn I had 58 front and back pages of notes. Some of those fell through the cracks. Oh well, no sense in worrying about it, it's behind me. Hakuna Matata, right guys?

Last weekend was a blast, for sure. My Paige was here! :D And Sandra, Elana, Jordan, Angela, Paige and I all had a picnic in the park and an awesome walk on South street. We planned on seeing Alice in Wonderland, but the universe was against us. Guess I'll watch it online at some point? Because I really am interested in it. I'm sure it's no Shutter Island, but... it'll be okay at worst. xD

My favorite shots from last weekend:

Steve calls that her, "Sgt Pepper" jacket. xD

Lol Jordan is my favorite.

Lol Sandra got Elana a "Sex Pistols" shirt... what more can you ask for?!

So, this weekend promises good things!
Seeing Elana's boy thing, Jesse, in concert on Saturday night, so fun for all. I'll take some more pictures. Hoooooraw! Hope everyone has a good weekend. I gotta hit the hay so I can rise and shine to see Sandra in the AM and go to the library to read up on conservative Judaism!!

PS: Hebrew is awesome, and the temple on 18th near Rittenhouse? Amazing and beautiful. All jews should go. We had a great time, and the people were all very helpful and nice.

PSS: Watching my window do that creepy thing it does, when it bangs on itself? Very, very scary to see alone and night... and much scarier having seen "The Unborn." Woah.

Night!

Totally accurate statement.

"THEEEEERE'S NOTHIN WROOOOONG... WITH MEEEE... LOVIN' YOU!"
Immediately followed by
"I don't want... annnnnnybody else! When I think aboouut you I touch myself!"

Friday with Elana? Oh yeah.

Spring is here! Technically the first day of Spring isn't until saturday, March 20th, (tomorrow) but it certainly feels like it's here! I've been wearing my nice, cool spring clothing. =] I loves every bit of it!! Spring is seconded only to fall in my favorite times of the year. But Spring is DEFINITELY the best time to be in Philadelphia. :D The city looks amazing.

Most of these pictures were taken on the walk from Arch and 13th to Walnut and 13th, because that's the route I take to school, now that city hall is closed. =]

Tomorrow I'm having a picnic with Jordan, Elana, and Sandra and possibly her boyriend Denis, if he decides to come, in Rittenhouse Park. Wawa sammitches, any one? Indeed! After that, Angela is coming with us to Alice in Wonderland- NOT IN 3D BECAUSE THAT'S FOR POSER BRATS! It's going to be excellent. :D

I don't think Matt is coming this weekend, but he'll probably be here next weekend, which is cute.=] Mostly because he's cute. lol

I got my extended outline back, and it's an A!! AND I'm on the fast track!!!! I love it. I'm so excited. :D Steve-o loved it; he only had 2 minor comments on the whole thing... my meeting genuinely took 6 minutes bahaha. SO excited!! Changing my main character's name from Sheila Bornstein to Sheila Pearl, because Sandra assures me that that's a fine, upstanding, Southern Lutheran name. xD

She and I are attending Temple (Judaism) after class on Tuesday at this temple near South street, too. So that's fun! Hurray jews! That's going to be a good time. Writing for Media midterm on Monday- only got a B on that paper on my mom. I knew that was gonna happen, the conclusion was crap. Oh well! Got an A- on the first one, right? And I'll do wonderfully on the midterm cause I read all those crap stories, so boo yeah. Sandra and I are doing the next paper together, and the draft isn't due until Thursday... I'm doing it on Angela, no word of a lie. xD
My Act 1 script is due on Monday, as well. And Zinn's midterm was pushed to Thursday to give her more time to cover the Romans, for which I am increasingly more and more thankful. xD We're totally analyzing "Tootsie" with Dustin Hoffman in Screenplay Analysis. Love it!!!!

I'm planning things for Ryan, Caly and my mom to do when they come that second to last week in April... should be fun! I enjoy!! Sandra's even coming a Picasso exibit with us, which is going to be great. :D Huzzah!

What's that? That's the face of a Biffle. <3

And that? That is the STANCE... OF THE JORDAN!
I loves me some Jordan.

Until next time, have a good break! And don't forget to grab a free treat from Rita's tomorrow.
Bye!

"What do tigers dream of... when they take a little tiger snooze?
Do they dream of mauling zebras... or Halle Berry in her "Cat Woman" suit?
Don't you worry your pretty stripped head-
We're gonna get you back to Tyson and your cozy tiger bed!
And then we're gonna find our best friend, Doug!
And then we're gonna give him a best friend Huuuuug!
Dooooooug Dougy Doug Doug Doug Dougy Doug Doug....
Dougy Doug Douuuuuggg....

"But if he's been murdered by crystal meth tweekerrrrrrs....
Well then we're shit outta luck."

Hello, all.

Spring is just around the corner, thank God! That's my favorite time to be in the city. Everything is chilly, but bright and sunny. And I can escape from my house without a jacket. Gray, and yellow, and light blue... I love Spring. Not to mention EASTER CANDY! Which is sooo much better than Valentine's or Christmas candy, of course. =P

I DROPPED DISCOVERING AMERICA, FINALLY! Worst class ever, I swear to God.

Got a B on my religion midterm. Did well on Diane's, I think. Probably between an A & B. Over the break, I need to work on my Investigative Report for Sharry, which I'm doing on students who fall through the cracks, accademically, and the consequences of that (or lack thereof). I'm hoping that Angela will let me use her as my main character, hahaha. xD She seemed to like my Grateful Dead report on my mother. Hope so! Ummm... my outline for Steve's class on my rewritten teleplay is due after the break toooo. I also need to read the chapter on Monotheistic religion, and then on Judaism for Religion. And I need to read Tootsie, for Diane's class. Gotta write a paper for Zinn on Madea, and study for her midterm as well. -Sigh- Work work work.

Matt's definitely sitting next to me and playing Splashdown, hahaha. He cooked for me last night which was adorable. Vodka Rigattoni, I think it's called? It was FANTASTIC. I can't believe he made it lol, it was restaurant quality. Soooooo good. And there were leftovers, so I get to have some more! :D Curtis is on his way over, and I hope the two of them get along. Matt and I decided last night to go to Q Doba today, haha. So we're gonna do that for dinner. We had tea and toast this morning. =] And he bought me a Cadberry egg! Mmmmm...
Curtis called me last weekend and we realized its been like two months since we've really even seen each other. Hence, his coming over. He also asked me if I was pregnant when he called. Now that's fresh.

That's meeeeee! :D I had cool Spring pictures, but my camera ran out of batteries so I can't upload them yet. I'll just post them when I get home! And by then I'll have some cool Spring break pictures, too.

Have a good Spring Break, everybody!

Priscilla Queen of the Desert Soundtrack. You know, it's been FAR too long since I've done a good old Drag look. That's gonna have to happen in my near future. Perhaps when Miss Paige comes to visit for her spring break, in mid March? That does sound like a good idea.

I am DROPPING Discovering America, I tell you. I just can't deal with that book any more. I don't care if I need to take a SIFT my last semester of my senior year, I am NOT taking that class. I would rather be failing math than failing history. At least that is to be EXPECTED. I don't think I'm actually 'failing' Discovering America, because we've only done one paper so far, but an 8 page one was due TODAY and not only had I completely forgotten because I was sick last week but... I can't DO it because I cannot analyze something I don't understand. It completely frustrates me to read a book and have no idea what I just read. I can't deal with it. Drrooooooopping it on Friday.

Everything else, however, is going well. I got back my second paper in Religion today and it was another A. :D That's two A's!! The midterm is next week, and I plan on studying, so hopefully I will do well. Screenwriting II Workshops went great, and I have my meeting with Steve on Thursday, right after Writing for Media, when my rough draft of a "Profile" is due. A profile is an interview with some one famous, or some one who poses as a walking contradiction, or conundrum. I'm doing one on my mother, who is a Dead Head through and through, but serves position as a ball-buster and a perfectionist at her workplace, and is often feared- which, if you know anything about the Grateful Dead, is definitley a contradiction. Texts and Contexts is still interesting, as always. We're about to start reading Euripedes's "Medea" which I hope to enjoy. I seem to be retaining the VAST amount of information learned in that class fairly well. The midterm is not until after Spring Break, so I will have ample time to prepare.

Apparently I am on the UArts homepage. At least, that is what Gabby, Sandra and Zach were kind enough to tell me. xD I had no idea. Zach also happily informed me that my "lame blog" distracted him from his homework. Always nice to meet a fan....

This weekend at home was good! I know I said I was going to post from there, but I forgot my stupid camera cord at school and I didn't want to post without my pictures! The "Further" concert was fantastic. Two of the original Grateful Dead members (Bob and Phil) are in the band. And my mother was thrilled that the Jerry Garcia stand-in was spot on in impersonation. She said it was very realistic. My Uncle Timmy came, too, as did our family friend, Sean Druin, who had never seen anything like that before. xD It was awesome.

That's a charming face I make when my dad takes pictures.

My Uncle Timmy (right) and Sean Druin (left)

So, that's that! Screenplay Analysis tomorrow, with Diane. I read Groundhog Day tonight for it, which was mildly amusing and MUCH easier to break down, structurally. The analytical paper for that class is due in about... a week and a half? Something like that. Shouldn't be too brutal, though. Gym tomorrow night, too. And then on Friday I need to go to the Registrar to drop Discovering America, see CISCO! Hahaha, sign the time card, get my check, and go grocery shopping.

Oh! And Matt is coming again this weekend. =] We're going to see Shutter Island on Friday night, and then to the Italian Bistro on Saturday. Hehehe I am excited. He's wicked sweet. =P

VERY excited for Shutter Island. I have been ever sense I saw the commercial, oh... MONTHS ago! When something came out over the summer I saw it in theatres, and there was a commercial for it and just... love. Love at first sight!! There's a great interview with Leonardo DiCaprio (the star of the film) on how he needed to recieve THERAPY during the shoot because he didn't know "what reality was" from all the traumatic filming. Any time an actor can lose his sense of place like that... it's a film ANY writer needs to see. =] Why do you think I saw "The Dark Knight"? xD I'm going to see it again over the week of Spring break, too (March 5 - March 14). I'm taking Caly cause she's hard up to see it as well. Good times!

Until later! Have a good week/weekend, people. <3

Sick days are no fun. I'm watching "The Breakfast Club" and finishing up some work that's due tomorrow- or du after I get back from being home this weekend... hoping to not have to bring home books. xD

"Why is that door closed? .....WHY IS THAT DOOR CLOSED?"

"I think a screw fell out of it."
